Our dermatovenereological office is a part of the company Medicentrum Beroun, s. r. o.
As one the first companies in the Central Bohemia Region, this company started its medical business in 1995. A comfortable private health facility with specialists with experience not only from the best Czech clinics, but also from abroad, was created by the privatisation of the health centre in Beroun.
A new dermatological office was opened on January 2007 in Prague, which is our way of coming closer to our clients and at the same time it follows in the success of the specialised office located at the health centre in Beroun until now. The Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Haematology of the company Medicentrum Beroun, spol. s r.o. was founded in the first half of the 1980s at the Beroun Polyclinic. At the beginning of 2007 the department was substantially modernized and is now fully automated and equipped with modern laboratory technology. The majority of this equipment is from the leading international company, Abbott Laboratories. Operations are managed by the latest information system from the company Stapro; only several domestic worksites have this technology available today. Biological material is processed in test tubes with barcode labels. The connection of the integrated system of analyzers with the information system enables requests to be accepted, analyzed, and controlled. Results are issued in either electronic or hardcopy form, virtually without human assistance.
IUSTI (The International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections) was founded in 1923, making it the oldest organization supporting international cooperation in mapping and monitoring sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS. This union is organized on both a global and regional basis, and it was at the international conference hosted by the European region on October 11-14, 2007 in Dubrovnik, Croatia that our dermatovenerology outpatient clinic, represented by MUDr. Kateřina Klauzová, MBA and MUDr. Přemysl Procházka, made an excellent presentation. The poster presentation STI AND ACTORS IN PORNOGRAPHIC MOVIES created by these physicians together with the head of the Medicentrum biochemistry laboratory, RNDr. Petr Bořil, finished first among the 105 poster presentation entered by other countries. This success is proof that our Kartouzská St. clinic is truly unique in this country and that our physicians are truly globally-recognized experts in this field.
